In honour of this very special visit, girls may wear Santa jumpers/other Christmas accessories on Thursday 19th December!

Thank you to our PA who are kindly preparing Santa's Grotto in Hollypark for this very special visit. ( I think they are definitely on Santa's Good List!)

Infant Christmas Plays

Junior Infants

Junior Infants took to the stage this morning and true pros that they are, wowed us with their wonderful performance of 'Ralph the Reindeer'. Hollypark to Hollywood in a heartbeat!

Senior Infants

Senior Infants are very excited to perform their show 'Whoops A Daisy Angel' tomorrow, Thursday 12th December at 09:30am. We can't wait!

Due to the restricted space available in the hall, we kindly ask that only two adults per child attend the shows. For health and safety reasons, please do not bring hot drinks into the school building.

Hockey

Well done to our two hockey teams who played Monkstown ETNS on Monday, winning in both games. A great start to the season for our girls.

Irish Dancers

Over the Halloween break, we performed with our Irish dancing school in Disneyland Paris. There were 30 dancers from our dancing school, including Ciara's younger sister Eva. It was a wonderful experience to dance in the huge theatre with lots of people coming in to watch us. We went on lots of rides and rollercoasters afterwards too! It was a huge honour to dance in Disneyland, we had so much fun with our friends and we made memories for life!
At the end of November, we competed for the first time in the Irish Dancing Leinster Championships in solo and team events. It was very different from normal competitions because the stage was much bigger and the points were announced on a big screen. We were very happy to bring back many medals!

Hollypark GNS PA Update

PA Ladies' and Girls' Preloved Occasion Wear Night

The PA hosted a wonderful ‘Ladies' and Girls’ Preloved Occasion Wear Night' on Thursday 28th November giving parents an opportunity to purchase high-quality ladies and girls' occasion wear at a reduced cost while socialising with other parents.

The PA would like to give a big thank you to their event sponsors:

A fantastic €1277.00 was raised for the school on the night!

Select unsold items are still for sale via Facebook Group: 'What She Wore'. Search #Hollypark GNS to filter.

PA Christmas Gift Bag Appeal

Our Christmas Charity Appeal this year is for Feed Our Homeless, a Finglas-based charity. They're out on Dublin streets every night helping homeless people. They also help homeless families living in emergency accommodation.

We are asking for gift bags for children living in emergency accommodation.

The charity have asked if we could do certain age ranges. We've separated them into class groups...

  • JI & SI please do a gift bag for age 3-5

  • 1st/2nd/3rd please do a gift bag for age 8-12

  • 4th/5th/6th please do a gift bag for age 12-16

You can choose to do a gift bag for girls or boys.

Please send into school this week: 9th - 13th December. There will be drop boxes in each classroom.

Traffic Safety

Morning & afternoon one-way system:

Reminders:

  • Please use the church car park at drop off and collection times and walk the last 6 minutes with your child.

  • 80% of our pupils live within 2 kilometres of our school. Please encourage your older children to walk with their pals to and from school.

  • Please ensure that younger children are held by the hand when walking with them to and from school.

  • Please do not block the driveways of local residents when parking. Many of our residents – often elderly - are virtual prisoners in their own homes at drop off and collection times. And when they speak up are often subject to abuse.

  • In the event of an emergency, when cars are parked illegally, it is unlikely that a fire tender or ambulance would be able to access the schools, or any homes in the vicinity.
