60th Anniversary Book

Pupils and staff have compiled a beautiful keepsake book to celebrate our 60th anniversary. This 148 page commemorative book is packed full of photos and facts about our school and its 60 year journey.

Thanks to generous sponsorship from parents, local businesses and school suppliers we are able to offer this book to our families for the price of only €15. There are limited copies available and so initial orders are limited to one per family. You can order your copy via Aladdin.

Fun Day: Friday 12th June

And we look forward to a special Fun Day for our two schools when we celebrate 60 years on Friday 12th June!

Lots of Socks!

Lots of Socks is Down Syndrome Ireland’s fundraising campaign in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD).

The date for WDSD is set on the 21st day of the 3rd month as a representation of the extra copy of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome that people with Down syndrome are born with. Plus, chromosomes look a lot like socks under a microscope!

We will be celebrating Lots of Socks Day in Hollypark on Friday 20th March. Girls can wear fun, colourful and odd socks on the day ands make a donation via our Bucket Collection!

Engineer's Week

Allsún's dad recently paid a visit to 3rd Class to tell us all about his work as a civil engineer.

We had a fascinating morning learning how bridges are designed and built, and hearing about his experience helping to construct the new runway at Dublin Airport.

He shared lots of interesting photos and even brought in some real bolts and other materials used in construction for us to see up close.

We might have a few budding engineers among us now!

Donation of Glassware

Thank you to Seema, Laoise Rathore's mum who kindly donated an extensive selection of glassware to our STEAM Room!

Féile na dTeangacha 9ú - 13ú Márta

Táimíd ag ceiliúradh Féile na dTeangacha sa scoil an tseachtain seo!! Tá ana-cuid imeachtaí eagraithe trí mheán na Gaeilge chun grá don Ghaeilge a mhuscailt i measc na gcailíní! Bhí Céilí ag Rang a 3 agus Rang a 4 le Scoil na mBuachaillí agus d’imir rang a 5 agus rang a 6 Cluichí ar an Astró le na buachaíllí ar an Mháirt.

Beidh Seó Faisin mór sa halla ar an Aoine agus beidh cailíní sa scoil ag damhsa rince Gaelach dúinn freísín. Bíonn Raidió Fhéile na dTeangacha ar siúl gach maidin agus bíonn ceol agus craic le cloisteáil ar an Raidió.

Béimíd ar fad gléasta in éadaí glasa ar an Aoine don Lá Mór Glas. Is aoibheann linn Féile na dTeangacha agus táimíd ag súil go mór le Lá Fhéile Pádraig!!

Chomh maith le sin bhí The Book Fair ar siúl sa halla!! The Library Ladies have done a terrific job organising our wonderful Book Fair in the hall this week ably assisted by the Language Committee in 6th Class. We have all enjoyed visiting the Book Fair this week.

We had a very informative and interesting visit from the author Sinéad Moriarty last Friday. She has written books such as Fixing Mum and Dad, The New Girl, The Truth About Riley and Finding Hope. She spoke to the girls about her children’s books and what inspired her to write them. The girls really enjoyed her visit! Thank you Sinéad!

Glacann na cailíní sa scoil páirt sa bhFáinne gach bliain. Foghlaimíonn siad méid áirithe Gaeilge labhartha agus cuirtear scrúdú cainte orthu san Earrach. I rang a sé bronntar an Fáinne Airgid ar na cailíní. Léiríonn an Fáinne Airgid go bhfuil na cailíní seo líofa go leor sa Ghaeilge. Bíonn an-bhród orthu a gcuid Gaeilge a úsáid agus cabhraíonn sé go mór leo agus iad ag dul go dtí an mheánscoil.

Well done!

Well done to our School Choir!

Our School Choir performed beautifully at Córfhéile na Scoileanna last Wednesday evening. As always so very proud of our girls!

Well done to our Hockey Teams!

This week Hollypark A and B teams played their final league match against St. Brigids, Cabinteely in Loreto Foxrock. Both teams played fantastically and won 4-0.
For the A team, Ava and Lara both scored the goals. Lara scored a hattrick! Sophia and Cameron scored for the B Team.
Next week both teams will be parttake in the semi-finals and hopefully both teams will make it into the finals which will take place on Thursday 26th March.

Go Hollypark!

By Ellie and Kate.

Well done Elize & Ciara!

Congratulations to Ciara and Elize in 3rd Class who both won trophies in the Naomh Iosef Feis recently.

Maith thú!

Voluntary Contributions 2025- 2026

Sincere thanks to the 174 families (that is 45% of all our families) who have already made a Voluntary Contribution to the school for 2025-26.

It may interest our families to know that you can choose to make frequent small payments to your Voluntary Contribution via Aladdin at any time during the school year, up to and including 31st August 2026.

Any and all contributions are very much appreciated and make a real difference to your daughter's learning environment.

PA Update

Tesco Community Fund

We are delighted once again to be participating in Tesco's Community Fund. Thanks to Adrian, PA, we have secured a spot in Tesco's Stillorgan store for 11 weeks for a share of the €1500 among three charities!

PA Pre-Loved Uniforms: Sale: Friday 13th March

PA Table Quiz Fundraiser: Friday 20th March

We are looking forward to another fun fundraising event on Friday 20th March when our quizzing skills will be put to the test. Thank you again to our hardworking PA for organising this fun event.

The continued fundraising efforts of the PA—supported by your generous voluntary contributions and Department funding—are already making a meaningful impact. We are currently working with suppliers to add new painted games to the yard surface, and we have ordered picnic tables to enhance our Outdoor Learning Space.

We are also pleased to share that this year’s IT grant has been received, enabling us to purchase an additional 15 ThinkPads for use across our classrooms.

These resources will make a real difference to our girls’ learning experiences. Thank you!!

Health & Safety

From time to time, vapes have been found on the school yard.

Please note that under legislation,

Smoking/Vaping is prohibited on school grounds.

Traffic Safety

Please note:

It is illegal to park in a way which interferes with traffic flow or obstructs or endangers other road users, for example:

  • Opposite a continuous white line.

  • On a footpath (either partly or wholly).

  • Within 5 metres of a junction.

  • Within 15 metres on the approach side or 5 metres on the other side of a pedestrian crossing or traffic lights.

  • At a school entrance.

  • Obstructing any entrance for vehicles except with the occupier’s consent.

  • On a grass margin or median strip.

[Dublin Street Parking Services]

Once again I am reminding our parents/guardians/minders to drive and park with consideration for our children and our neighbours - many of whom are elderly and vulnerable.

One Way Traffic System

When travelling to and from the school please use the one way traffic system outlined below to alleviate traffic congestion.

Traffic Safety

  • Please use the church car park at drop off and collection times and walk the last 6 minutes with your child.

  • 80% of our pupils live within 2 kilometres of our school. Please encourage your older children to walk with their pals to and from school.

  • Please ensure that younger children are held by the hand when walking with them to and from school.

  • Please do not block the driveways of local residents when parking. Many of our residents – often elderly - are virtual prisoners in their own homes at drop off and collection times. And when they speak up are often subject to abuse.

  • Please park legally and with care.

  • As things stand, in the event of an emergency, it is unlikely that a fire tender or ambulance would be able to access the schools, or any homes in the vicinity, at drop off and collection times.
