National Children's Choir

Our 5th & 6th Classes have been working very hard learning the 15 song repertoire for the National Children’s Choir (NCC) programme and are very much looking forward to performing this repertoire at their concert on Friday 28th March in the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.
Today we hosted our second ‘cluster rehearsal’ in advance of our forthcoming concert in Tallaght. We were delighted to welcome the girls and boys of Guardian Angels NS to our school for the rehearsal and were excited that one of the three NCC Musical Directors, Ms Orla Gillan, conducted this rehearsal.
The NCC has been bringing choral music to primary schools since 1985, and this year NCC is celebrating its 40th anniversary. To mark this celebration RTE’s children’s news programme News2Day visited our rehearsal today and recorded a report of the launch! We will let you know when it is going to broadcast live!
School Choir: Córfhéile 2025
It is a busy time musically for our girls.

Next Monday evening, our School Choir will perform at Córfhéile na Scoileanna at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.
They have worked very hard, attending many additional rehearsals, and we are very much looking forward to their performance.
History Day in Hollypark: 19th February 2025
Our girls had a fun-filled day today marking History Day in Hollypark!
Microsoft Dream Space Ambassadors
On Thursday the 13 of February we did a presentation on AI. We were assigned two classes that we had to teach about AI. We really enjoyed it and can not wait to do more. We hope the girls enjoyed it as much as we did.

On Friday the 14th of February we presented a presentation on Micro Bit, which is a mini computer. We had a lot of fun making the PowerPoint and really enjoyed showing it to others in our school. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to be a Dream Space Ambassador.

Traffic Safety
Morning & afternoon one-way system:

Reminders:
The school has received many complaints of dangerous driving and parking in the vicinity of the school. Children and local residents are being put at risk.
Please use Foxrock Church car park at drop off and collection times and walk the last 6 minutes with your child.
Deansgrange Cemetery has requested that our parent body do not park and stride from the Cemetery carpark.
80% of our pupils live within 2 kilometres of our school. Please encourage your older children to walk with their pals to and from school.
Please ensure that younger children are held by the hand when walking with them to and from school.
Please do not block the driveways of local residents when parking. Many of our residents – often elderly - are virtual prisoners in their own homes at drop off and collection times. And when they speak up are often subject to abuse.
In the event of an emergency, when cars are parked illegally, it is unlikely that a fire tender or ambulance would be able to access the schools, or any homes in the vicinity.
Hollypark GNS & BNS understand and appreciate how busy the roads are each morning. We continue to engage with DLR & An Taisce, Safe Routes to School, for a safer school zone.
