Junior Infant Welcome Day: Wednesday 20th May
We were delighted to welcome our newest Hollyparkers into our school today and look forward to their first day in 'Big School' on Thursday 27th August.
Thanks to our PA who organised a pre-loved Uniform Sale for our new parents today.

My Little Library Bag is a free tote bag that families can collect from their local library, each one containing two books to help children prepare for starting school, as well as useful resources for parents. A My Little Library Bag card wallet is also available at the library on collection of the bag for existing library members, or children who join at the time.
Bags are available in both Irish and English and are currently free to collect at all Dún Laoghaire – Rathdown library branches, subject to availability. Families just call in during opening hours – no appointment needed.

All classes are invited to wear their PJs (appropriate for school) and bring a teddy bear (one that they can actually carry…!) to school to celebrate our Fun Day on Friday 12th June.

Fun activities will be ongoing throughout the day!
Hoping the girls will enjoy the relaxed vibe especially following directly on from a hectic Sports Day on Thursday 11th!
5th Class: Exploring Irish Culture
Last week, 5th Class had some wonderful opportunities to explore Irish culture and the arts. Ms. Scally’s and Ms. Dobey’s classes visited the National Gallery, where we explored a wide range of paintings with a focus on Irish history. Having studied the Normans earlier in the year, we were especially excited to see 'The Marriage of Strongbow and Aoife' in real life. As the largest painting in the gallery, we were all very impressed!
Ms. Dobey’s Class also attended a performance of 'Peter and the Wolf' at the National Concert Hall. A special thank you to Johanna’s mum, Violetta, a cellist in the orchestra, for the invitation. The students were lucky enough to experience a live concert and learn all about the instruments in the orchestra.
To round off our trips, both classes visited two different playgrounds. We really enjoyed our time in the city together and making some special 5th Class memories.
Well done!
Well done Neasa!

Well done Allsún!

It may interest our families to know that you can choose to make frequent small payments to your Voluntary Contribution via Aladdin at any time during the school year, up to and including 31st August 2026.
Any and all contributions are very much appreciated and make a real difference to your daughter's learning environment.

Traffic Safety

Please note: It is illegal to park in a way which interferes with traffic flow or obstructs or endangers other road users, for example:
[Dublin Street Parking Services] Once again I am reminding our parents/guardians/minders to drive and park with consideration for our children and our neighbours - many of whom are elderly and vulnerable. |
One Way Traffic System
When travelling to and from the school please use the one way traffic system outlined below to alleviate traffic congestion.

Traffic Safety
Please use the church car park at drop off and collection times and walk the last 6 minutes with your child.
80% of our pupils live within 2 kilometres of our school. Please encourage your older children to walk with their pals to and from school.
Please ensure that younger children are held by the hand when walking with them to and from school.
Please do not block the driveways of local residents when parking. Many of our residents – often elderly - are virtual prisoners in their own homes at drop off and collection times. And when they speak up are often subject to abuse.
Please park legally and with care.
As things stand, in the event of an emergency, it is unlikely that a fire tender or ambulance would be able to access the schools, or any homes in the vicinity, at drop off and collection times.
Birthdays this week in Hollypark!
