First Holy Communion
Well done to our 2nd class girls who made their First Holy Communion on Saturday.
Thank you to Ms O'Sullivan, Ms O'Shea & Ms McGovern for preparing our girls so well.
Thank you to Fr. Gerry, Goretti Newell and the Parish Sacramental Team for all their work in preparing the girls.
Thank you to our School Choir who sang so beautifully, skilfully accompanied by Simon - really adding to the ceremony.
Thank you to the Parents' Association and the team of volunteers who laid on such lovely refreshments for the Communion Reception. The 'goody bags' were a delightful added touch.
First Holy Communion Photo Day: Thursday 16th May. |
Thank You!
Thank you to the 269 families (out of our 418 families) who have already given a Voluntary Contribution to the school during this school year. Voluntary Contributions can be made via Aladdin at any time throughout the year. Each and every contribution is very much appreciated and will be used to enhance your daughter's learning environment.
Booklists
Booklists for 2024/25 will be issued to all classes on Friday.
All current school books are to be returned to the Class Teacher by Wednesday 19th June or before this if pupils are leaving school before the end of term. Parents/Guardians are asked to ensure that books are returned in good condition for re-use in the following year. (Pencil markings rubbed out, etc.)
Please note, as we have built up a good stock of textbooks over the years through our Book Rental Scheme, the DE School Book Grant currently covers the cost of all textbooks, copies and folders in our school. By keeping our books in good condition, we can keep the cost of restocking textbooks to a minimum, thereby enabling the school (through the DE School Book Grant) to continue to supply copies and folders in addition to all textbooks.
Sports Day 2024
We are looking forward to our Sports Day which is planned for Wednesday 15th May. A letter with all details has been issued to parents.
Camogie
Well done to the camogie team who played their hearts out against St. Patrick’s GNS, Ballyroan on 24th April. The teams were well matched in the first half but unfortunately for us, the home side came out with a win after a powerful second half performance. Our girls should be so proud of the strength in their efforts.
Onwards we go to their final match of the league today against Gaelscoil Chnoc Liamhna in Kilmacud Crokes, Stillorgan. We wish them all the best!
Good News!
Congratulations to this student in 5th class who came first place in her recent dance competition!
School Choir
Our School Choir will be competing in the Navan Choral Festival on Thursday 2nd May. We wish them the very best of luck in this competition.
Health & Safety
A gentle reminder that for health and safety reasons all children (including pre-schoolers and other siblings) and adults must dismount bikes and scooters upon entry to the school. This applies at drop off and collection times and throughout the school day.
We also remind parents/guardians that for health and safety reasons, no dogs (with the exception of guide and assistance dogs) are allowed on the school premises.
Respect for Our Neighbours
Parents are reminded that for the health and safety of our girls, there is no vehicular access to the school for drop-off in the mornings.
As a Green School, with a very active Coiste Glas, we actively encourage our girls to walk, cycle and scoot to school. As 80% of our pupils live within 2km of the school, this is very doable for many.
Unfortunately, but quite justifiably, our neighbours frequently complain of inconsiderate parking on the roads close to our school.
Please use the Church car park if it’s on your route to school: parking at the Church is free to all families at drop off and collection times.
