First Holy Communion

Our 2nd Classes enjoyed a wonderful day on Sunday as they celebrated their First Holy Communion in Foxrock Church. It was a truly special occasion for all involved.

Our School Choir raised the rafters with their beautiful singing—thank you for giving up your precious Sunday morning. A special word of thanks also to Simon for his expert accompaniment on the organ.

We are very grateful to Fr Philip and the parish team for such a lovely ceremony and for the many months of preparation leading up to it. Sincere thanks to the Parents’ Association for hosting a delightful reception in the Parish Centre afterwards.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to our teachers, Ms Lamont, Ms McNulty and Ms de Fréin, who prepared the girls and the choir so wonderfully and who gave so generously of their time.

Junior Infant Welcome Day: Wednesday 20th May

We are looking forward to meeting our new Junior Infants on Wednesday 20th May.

Junior and Senior Infant Classes will finish early (11:45am) on the day to facilitate classroom set up for our newest Hollyparkers!

Rugby

We were delighted to enter two teams from 6th Class into the Leinster Rugby Blitz held at Old Belvedere Rugby Football Club. The girls were expertly trained by Paul Jordan and Sarah Murphy.

Both teams performed exceptionally well, remaining undefeated and winning all of their matches. We are incredibly proud of their teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

A Summer Serenade

Hollypark GNS Choir are delighted to present A Summer Serenade - an evening of song in aid of Barretstown and LauraLynn.

This concert will take place on Monday 25th May @ 7pm in Foxrock Church. Tickets available through Aladdin (payment link will issue shortly) and in the Parish Office.

We would really welcome your support for the choir and for these worthy children's charities!!

Sports Day: Thursday 11th June

Save the date! Thursday 11th June on the astro.

Schedule will issue shortly!

Fun Day: Friday 12th June: Teddy Bears' PJ Picnic Day

All classes are invited to wear their PJs (appropriate for school) and bring a teddy bear (one that they can actually carry…!) to school to celebrate our Fun Day on Friday 12th June.

Fun activities will be ongoing throughout the day:

  • JI – 2nd Class: Stretch & Grow

  • 3rd – 6th Class: Board games on the corridor

  • All classes: Hannah May

  • All classes: Bouncy Castle

Hoping the girls will enjoy the relaxed vibe especially following directly on from a hectic Sports Day on Thursday 11th!

Well done Remy & Sadhbh!

Last Sunday 10th May, our traditional Irish music group, Cumann na bPíobairí Uilleann, came third place in the Dublin Fleadh Competition. Now, we are through to the Leinster Fleadh in Portlaoise in June. We play the fiddle in the group. We are so excited to have qualified.

Voluntary Contributions 2025- 2026

Sincere thanks to the 224 families (that is 57% of all our families) who have already made a Voluntary Contribution to the school for 2025-26.

It may interest our families to know that you can choose to make frequent small payments to your Voluntary Contribution via Aladdin at any time during the school year, up to and including 31st August 2026.

Any and all contributions are very much appreciated and make a real difference to your daughter's learning environment.

Traffic Safety

Please note:

It is illegal to park in a way which interferes with traffic flow or obstructs or endangers other road users, for example:

  • Opposite a continuous white line.

  • On a footpath (either partly or wholly).

  • Within 5 metres of a junction.

  • Within 15 metres on the approach side or 5 metres on the other side of a pedestrian crossing or traffic lights.

  • At a school entrance.

  • Obstructing any entrance for vehicles except with the occupier’s consent.

  • On a grass margin or median strip.

[Dublin Street Parking Services]

Once again I am reminding our parents/guardians/minders to drive and park with consideration for our children and our neighbours - many of whom are elderly and vulnerable.

One Way Traffic System

When travelling to and from the school please use the one way traffic system outlined below to alleviate traffic congestion.

Traffic Safety

  • Please use the church car park at drop off and collection times and walk the last 6 minutes with your child.

  • 80% of our pupils live within 2 kilometres of our school. Please encourage your older children to walk with their pals to and from school.

  • Please ensure that younger children are held by the hand when walking with them to and from school.

  • Please do not block the driveways of local residents when parking. Many of our residents – often elderly - are virtual prisoners in their own homes at drop off and collection times. And when they speak up are often subject to abuse.

  • Please park legally and with care.

  • As things stand, in the event of an emergency, it is unlikely that a fire tender or ambulance would be able to access the schools, or any homes in the vicinity, at drop off and collection times.
