Dates for your Diary

Well done to all our girls who are still doing so well in the

WOW Homework Pass Challenge

Many girls are well on their way to acquiring their second Homework Pass.

Thank you to parents/guardians for your continued support of this initiative.

Recently in Granada a little girl was bitten by a dog on her way to school.

May we respectively ask parents/guardians to ensure that all dogs are on leads in the morning as some of our girls are now afraid to walk through Granada in the mornings.

Well done also to the most recent Golden Boot champions – Ms Mannix’s 4th Class.

Our school celebrated Science Week in school from 11th-15th November.

Thanks to all the parents who gave so generously of their time in visiting the school to ‘show and tell’ real science to our girls who were both delighted and inspired.

Congratulations to our School Debating Team –

Joanne Kenny, Sarah Cowman, Anna Pegum, Ava Bailey,

Aisling Barker & Jennifer O’Rourke

who won their first debate against Glenasmole NS earlier this month.

The motion for the debate (which we opposed) was:

‘Homework is a Waste of Time’.

The girls have now progressed to the next round!

Congratulations are also due to our School Choir who competed in the

Kilcoole Music Festival on Sunday 24th November.

We are delighted and proud that the girls came 1st in their competition.

Later that same afternoon our choir sang at the Light Up LauraLynn event.

On 17th November our choir spent the morning in school recording a Christmas CD.

This will be on sale shortly in the school.

The choir will send one of the recorded tracks into

LyricFM for the Carols for Christmas Competition.

To finish off what has been a very busy term, our School Choir will sing at the

Parish Christmas Concert in aid of the Homeless on Sunday 15th December

(tickets on sale in the school - €15 each).

There is no stopping these young ladies!

We were delighted to welcome parents/guardians to our annual PT Meetings which took place in the school on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st November.

We have had extremely positive feedback to our revised system and delighted that our Aladdin Connect App is proving so helpful to parents.

Our new Board of Management

will commence its four year term of office from 1st December.

Thank you to the two parent nominees who were elected at a meeting on 6th November – Ms Julie Anne Byrne & Mr Míceál Whelan.

Congratulations and thank you to our PA on yet another successful Christmas Fair.

Our PA held its AGM on 20th November and the school very much appreciates the €19,000 which was raised by the PA during 2018/2019.

The funds will be put to very good use ensuring that we have the best possible resources for our girls.

Thank you to all the parents/guardians who supported our recent HeadCheck initiative.

Don’t forget our weekly Headcheck Wednesday!
