BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 2010

We had a sixteen of wornderful girls participate in the Primary category of the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 2010 in January. The pupils who participated are as follows:

Sineád Ellison Anna Caffrey Ellen Doyle Eimear Murphy
Aoibheann Mc Giolla Riogh Sarah O' Farrell Erin Walsh Eva Glynn
Georgina Nelson Marianne Mc Grath Rachel Mahon Nessa Denihan
Tara O' Sullivan Hannah Mc Carthy Hannah Farrell Niamh Ní Iceadha

They are a fantastic team of students who worked hard on their project which was based on how different people learn in a number of ways.

You may be one of the following or a mix of each!
1. Visual learner - learn through seeing...
2, Auditory learner - learn through listening...
3. Reader - learn through reading printed text...
4. Kinesthetic learner - learn through , moving, doing and touching...

They used VARK as their mnemonic to summarise these different learning styles.

The judges and members of the public spoke very highly of their project and also their ability to explain and interact in a very enthusiastic way.

Senior Infants Nativity Play

Ms McHale’s, Ms Carey’s and Ms Foy’s senior infant classes came together to perform ‘Whoops a daisy Angel’ this year for their Nativity Play. It was a great success. Every girl had an important role in the play. We had angels, shepherds, story tellers, snowflakes and of course Mary & Joseph. The girls’ parents were all delighted and thrilled to see the final performance. They were equally impressed with our amazing costumes, all carefully designed by the creative Mrs Mulligan!
