St. Patrick's Girls National School, Foxrock, is located off the N11 dual carriage way, south of Dublin city. It was established to cater for the Catholic community of the area. However pupils of different persuasions do attend and their religious outlook is respected. Many nationalities are represented and we welcome them.

St. Patrick's Girls National School, Foxrock, is located off the N11 dual carriage way, south of Dublin city.
Currently we have circa 500 pupils attending the school.

 

 

The Lycée Français d’Irlande is located adjacent to our school and firm ties have been established between the two schools since its establishment in 1967. The pupils in 4th, 5th and 6th class in our school benefit from weekly French lessons given by a teacher from the Lycée Français d’Irlande.

Our pupils come from Foxrock as well as surrounding areas such as Deansgrange, Cabinteely, Blackrock and Leopardstown. Currently we have circa 500 pupils attending the school.

Our school consists of

- 3 streams of Junior and Senior infant classes
- 3 Streams of 5th and 6th classes
- 2 streams of 1st to 4th class
- 20 main stream classes
- 4 learning support staff
- Physical Education teacher
- Speech & Drama teacher

Our Deputy Head is Mrs Susan Murphy and our Principal is Mrs Joan Casey.

At Hollypark we aim to provide a wide, varied and comprehensive curriculum to enable each child to fulfil their potential.

Curriculum:


The integrated structure of the primary schools' curriculum for National Schools is now set, so that the aim of a child centered course of development, can be achieved.


However, within this structure, the subjects covered are arranged as follows:


1.
  Religion
2.  Language:  Irish, English and French (from 4th class)

    3.   Mathematics
4.  Social, Enviromental and Science Education. That is History, Civics, Geography,Science.
5.   Music.
6.   Visual Arts and Drama.
7.   Physical Education (specialist teacher and class teacher).
8.   Drama (specialist teacher and class teacher)
9.   SPHE: Social, Personal and Health Education including the Stay Safe and Walk Tall Programmes.

 

The syllabus is drafted to allow a great degree of flexibility to each school.  Full details are set out in the Curaclam na Bunscoile (Primary School Curriculum) and copies are available in libraries.
